Two senior officials killed after gas leak at IFFCO plant in Phulpur; UP CM orders probe
AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN UREA 1 PLANT OF IFFCO PHULPUR UNIT AT 10:30 PM ON 22.12.2020. THE TIE RODS OF AN AMMONIA PLUNGER PUMP SUDDENLY BROKE AND GOT DETACHED LEADING TO HEAVY AMMONIA LEAKAGE.
TWO OF OUR EMPLOYEES, MR. ABHAY NANDAN (DY. MANAGER) AND MR. VP SINGH (ASSTT. MANAGER), LAID THEIR LIVES TACKLING THE ACCIDENT AND SAVING OTHER LIVES. 13 OTHER EMPLOYEES AND 3 CONTRACT LABOUR ALSO GOT AFFECTED. OUT OF THEM 6 HAVE BEEN SHIFTED TO HOSPITAL IN PRAYAGRAJ WHILE REMAINING 10 ARE RECEIVING TRAEATMENT IN OUR TOWNSHIP HOSPITAL. TWO OF THEM HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED. CONDITION OF REAMAING 14 IS STABLE. OUR EMERGENY RESPONSE GROUP, FIRE & SAFETY TEAM AND PLANT OPERATING STAFF BRAVELY FOUGHT WITH THE EMERGENCY SITUATION AND RESTRICED THE LEAKAGE TO SMALL AREA WITHIN THE PLANT AND NORMALISED IT IN A SHORT TIME. A TECHNICAL ENQUIRY COMMITTEE, HEADED BY AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RANK OFFICER, HAS BEEN SET UP TO FIND OUT THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT.
