FOUR YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF Rs. ONE CRORE ONE THOUSAND TO THEN ENGINEER OF MES IN A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma, then Junior Engineer (QS&C) working in the office of Garrison Engineer, Military Engineer Services (MES), Bairagarh, Bhopal to undergo 04 years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. One crore one thousand (Rs. 1,00,01,000/-) in a Disproportionate Assets case.

CBI had registered a case u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988, on 13.12.2012, on the allegations that Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Junior Engineer (QS&C) working in the office of Garrison Engineer, MES, Bairagarh, Bhopal had amassed assets worth Rs. 99,05,864/- (approx.) which was disproportionate to his known sources of income in his name and in the name of his family members & others during the period 01.07.1999 to 14.08.2012. During investigation DA amount was calculated as 188.63 percent.

After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 29.11.2013 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal against the accused.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
