CBI arrests an Inspector of Central Goods & Services Tax and a Senior Manager of Bank of Baroda in separate cases of Bribery
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Inspector of Central Goods and Services Tax, Jharia Range, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered u/s 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 against an Inspector, Central Goods and Services Tax, Jharia Range, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) on a complaint alleging therein a demand of bribe amounting to Rs. 2,00,000/- by the accused from the complainant for settling the pending enquiry in his favour. Later on, the accused reduced the demand to Rs. One lakh and agreed to accept Rs. 50,000/- as first instalment of the bribe from the complainant.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting Rs. 50,000/- as first instalment of the bribe amount. Searches were conducted at the residential and office premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
The accused was produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Dhanbad and remanded to judicial custody.
In another case, CBI has arrested a Senior Manager (Head, Recovery & Credit Marketing), Bank of Baroda, Regional Office, Dehradun for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.
CBI registered a case u/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as amended) against the accused on a complaint. It was alleged that the Senior Manager, Bank of Baroda, Regional Office, Dehradun demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from complainant for clearing his pending bills.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused.
The arrested accused was produced before the competent Court, Dehradun and remanded to judicial custody.
